I acknowledge the traditional owners of this place, the Bundjalung nation's custodians, the Minjungbal people, their elders past and present. I acknowledge their ongoing attachment to this place. This is a Bundjalung place, always was, always will be.

This land is an ancient place and it exists within land that came to be known by 'settlers' as The Big Scrub that was decimated and cleared by colonists. It is an area that consists of an estimated 900 square kilometres of land made up subtropical rainforest. I acknowledge that the Bundjalung nation cared for this place and that their ongoing culture founded here is a integral part of a network of ongoing cultures that are the oldest on this planet.
